The Law Office took an active part in the Competition:
● The Law Office assisted the Department in organizing the Competition and drafting the Case Summary;
● The Law Office's lawyers acted as arbiters (judges) for the in-person rounds of the Competition;
● The Law Office provided an internship to one of the Competition winners and other gifts to its prize-winners.
The Competition consisted of 2 stages: (I) preparation of procedural documents based on the Case Summary by the participating teams; and (II) participation in oral rounds simulating court proceedings, where teams defended the client's interests representing either the Plaintiff or the Defendant.
The Case Summary was developed by the Department's professors jointly with the Law Office's lawyers. It was based on one of the Law Office's successful cases in resolving a family-corporate conflict.
The legal issues of the Case Summary included the following contentious questions:
● Can a participant's spouse, not being a member of the LLC, challenge corporate decisions if they block her property rights?
● Is the decision to prohibit the admission of new members lawful?
● Would the spouse's admission as a member benefit or harm the company?
On Constitution Day, December 12, 2025, the in-person rounds of the Competition took place. They involved 40 individuals from different teams. The teams presented their positions before practicing lawyers, including lawyers from the Law Office, who acted as arbiters (judges) for the in-person rounds.
Thanks to the active participation of the Law Office and other partners, the student competition (The Model PROcess) in 2025 reached a new level. For the first 2 years, the Competition was held among RANEPA students. In 2025, the Competition progressed to an inter-university stage: teams from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL), and Plekhanov Russian University of Economics took part. Participants and arbiters noted the brilliant organization of the competition.
RussianLegal expresses gratitude to the Department for the fruitful cooperation and the opportunity to participate in preparing future professionals.
