RussianLegal at the St. Petersburg Legal Summit. The future of education and risks for business

Andrey Kozlov and Kirill Ermolenko spoke at the St. Petersburg Legal Summit.

The first day of the summit was dedicated to the topic of legal education.

In the Erarta Museum, students and professors of law faculties communicated with employers. Experts discussed new educational formats and the requirements of innovative industries for young specialists.

Andrey Kozlov, Managing Partner of the Law Office, participated in a discussion on the challenges that university graduates will soon face.

The founder of the Law Office's education practice began his speech with an unexpected proposal to forget the meaning of the word “lawyer”. Andrey urged the session participants not to limit themselves to traditional ideas about the profession, not to be afraid to dive into new things - and not to stop in the constant process of self-education. “Going through experience is to open the door to the future,” he emphasized. And reminded that the world is rapidly changing - so it is worth making a choice in favor of new individual professional strategies. And they are more easily and successfully formed within complex game-based learning formats.

Another discussion was devoted to the issues of painless conflict resolution in business. Kirill Ermolenko, a partner of the Law Office, reminded that the key to a healthy business partnership is written agreements and fixing all negative scenarios, because the reasons for most failures are often the partners' exaggerated expectations of each other. Kirill advised to undergo a timely “legal check-up”, which will allow to identify and eliminate these risks before they turn into serious consequences.
