Andrey Kozlov, managing partner of RussianLegal, commented for Vedomosti on the stalled wine draft law.
There were plans to legislate the term "wine of Russia" to support national wine producers, but the idea did not find support in the State Legal Department (SLPD), as this term would have been in contradiction with technical regulations of the EEU.
Andrey Kozlov believes that Russia is able to amend the EEU legislation, adapting it for the purposes of the draft law, which will require some time, and for now the legislator only has to adjust the draft law in accordance with the conclusion of the GPU.
