RussianLegal Supported a Japanese Supplier in Importing Laboratory Mice for Testing a CoVID-19 Vaccine
A Japanese laboratory animal breeder instructed us to support the importation into Russia of a large number of mice genetically modified to be susceptible to SARS-CoV-2.
Since the mice were modified to be susceptible to SARS-CoV-2 and given the global pandemic situation, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (FSVPS) considered them as potential virus carriers and refused to permit them to be imported into Russia. The disrupted supply prevented the antiviral studies from being completed while it would take a considerable time to produce the required number of mice inside Russia.
In order to facilitate the importation, RussianLegal prepared another application to the FSVPS and caused Japanese veterinary agencies and a laboratory operated by AnGes, Inc. who produced such mice to issue their expert opinions disclosing the peculiarities of the quality management system applicable to laboratory animal breeding.
Our efforts helped the client receive the required importation permit for the mice and quickly and smoothly pass the customs clearance formalities with the minimum losses.
